Tribal, hypnotic and groovy, this is how I would describe this new release by Tetelepa (the Founder of KERING# and DPBEATS, member of Dilated Pupils, cofounder of SIENA and ESHU Records). We must be vigilant, as soon as we have some previews we will share them, but without a doubt these two new tracks announced by will be very pleasant for the eccentrics of the electronic scene.

Stay tune for September 28th, 2018, as \”wainting for the flash EP\” officially comes out on 12 \’\’ and Digital download on Darko Esser\’s BALANS label.

Overview: For the next installment on Darko Esser’s Balans imprint the Dutch producer Tetelepta brings his slick, laidback tech house vibe to the label with ‘Waiting For The Flash’ EP. ‘Waiting’ opens the EP gently with a crisp, hypnotic groove and half way it turns into a beast of a tune sure to move any dancefloor. On the flipside ‘Flash’ opts for a more tribal sound, with a dreamlike, slow burning melody that builds up to a trippy frenetic rhythm.

Music, work, friends and life in general is all about balance for Dutch DJ, producer and promoter Darko Esser. And more importantly finding and keeping that balance despite all the contradictions, rollercoasterrides and paradoxes life can put in front of you. It’s what binds us all like sleep, breathing and eating. No suprise that his debutalbum is dedicated to that neverending quest for balance,
or as the Dutch call it: ‘Balans’. Most tracks on the album have opposing titles and the atmosphere changes from dark, moody and emotional to uplifting, cheerfull and happy. Sometimes even within the same track.
Finding balance in contradictions is also the main reason why his activities cover such a wide range and can be completely different in character. From programming the electronic music-events for the legendary Dutch venue Doornroosje to DJ-ing all over Europe back to making music in the solitude of his homestudio and selecting tracks for new releases on his Wolfskuil imprint. The difference between these activities is not entirely contradictory, because it’s all about the music at the end of the day.
As a DJ he has more then 15 years of experience in the bag and has played all over Europe in world famous clubs such as Berghain & Panoramabar, Rex, Tresor, 11, House Of God and off course his homebase Doornroosje. His sound is versatile and strongly depends on the setting and atmosphere of that particular moment. One could say that his sound is strongly settles on the crossing borders between house & techno, but don’t be surprised if he takes a sideway into broken beat, dubstep, electronics or the undiscribable.
With a discography of over 30 releases, including international clubhits like ‘Paradox’ (Underwater), ‘Catatonic’ (Ovum) and ‘The Return’ on his own Wolfskuil imprint, Darko has established a solid reputation in the producer department ever since his first records came out in 2003. His releases receive massive support from international keyplayers as diverse as Laurent Garnier, Dave Clarke, Sasha, John Digweed, Steve Bug, Francois K, Luke Slater and Len Faki. Following this succes he was asked to remix tracks from Anthony Pappa, Sharam Jey, Davide Squillace and King Roc amongst others.
In 2003 he started the label Wolfskuil Records together with his good friend LL. Nowadays he runs the label by himself and activity has been increasing over the years thanks to overwhelming support from the industry and off course an increasing input of strong demos. The evergrowing Wolfskuil family ranges from young producers who release their first record to established musician like Joris Voorn, DJ Yellow, Benny Rodrigues and Paul Brtschitsch. He is very ambitious with the label, so watch out for more artistalbums in the following years.
As a promoter he is involved in more then a 100 events each year ranging from small clubshows as programdirector for electronic music in Doornroosje and Merleyn, to programming festivals up to 15.000 capacity, like Free Your Mind in Arnhem. Music- and genrewise there are no limitions, since quality manifests itself in many different shapes and sounds.

Techno veteran Justin Berkovi has been undergoing something of a renaissance of late. Whilst cemented in the techno history books with his classics on Music Man, Force Inc, Djax up and Harthouse back in the day Justin has returned to the fore with a slew of killer releases and live sets.
Refusing to be pigeonholed Justin straddles the dark brooding purposeful world of techno alongside the mesmeric beauty of his deeper, more introspective tracks. His material over the past year has seen support from Adam Beyer, Technasia, The Advent, Dave Clarke, Dubfire, Chris Liebing, Ben Sims, Shake Shakir, Claude Young, Wehbba and many more. With several EPs and remixes in the pipeline and coming out soon Berkovi continues his mantra of unique techno and looks set to restart his seminal deep techno / house label \’Nightrax\’ in 2012 accompanied by a deep techno / tech house live set for the first time showcasing this aspect of his work.
Justin’s live sets have taken him all over the globe from the most intimate of clubs to the largest of festivals. Some clubs and festivals played: Tresor, Berghain, Womb (Tokyo), Ministry of Sound, Ambassada Gavioli (Slovenia), Rex (Paris), TLV (Tel Aviv), Amnesia (Ibiza), Dancevalley (Holland), Nature One / Liberty One (Germany), Love Parade (Berlin), I Love Techno (Belgium), 10 Days off (Belgium), Fuse, Florida 135 and many more. He’s not only worked dancefloors but has created experimental electronica (Charm Hostel) and produced a Peel Session for the late John Peel as well as being one of the few techno artists chosen for the Kats Karavan John Peel tribute album.

British born, Berlin based DJ, producer and sound designer Tommy Four Seven, or known to some as just T47, is at the front of the new generation of Techno artists, creating his trademark deep and uncompromising sounds. Learning to DJ from a young age, at 17, Tommy held a 2 year residency at Fire Club, London whilst appearing at legendary venues such as Fabric, The End and Turnmills. Producing was also an early interest and Tommy soon began releasing on David Duriez\’s, Brique Rouge and Kill Brique label, before launching his own imprint called Shooting Elvis.

After studying Music Technology in London, Tommy moved to Berlin and has been steadily building his catalogue of strong, moody and hypnotic tracks such as his 2009 hit, \’Surma\’ on Speedy J’s Electric Deluxe and more recently, \’Sor\’ on CLR, not forgetting the before mysterious \’Bauhaus\’ project with Chris Liebing. Tommy’s approach to music is unlike a musician. Instead, he prefers to sound design, recording and sculpting elements into deep engaging atmospheres. An impressive example of this extraordinary production ethos is his upcoming debut artist album “Primate”. It will be released on CLR in March 2011, which looks set to be his landmark year.

Tommy Four Seven, the crownprince of Chris Liebing\’s CLR empire, made a very special mix prior to his BALANS show in Melkweg, Amsterdam. Tommy and BALANS head honcho Darko Esser have history together, with Tommy releasing on his Wolfskuil imprint and them remixing each other\’s tunes. Mr Four Seven has been making waves with his uncompromising releases, resulting in the epic debutalbum that is \’Primate\’. His relentless, dynamic and raw livesets have made him many fans worldwide. This mix is a perfect example of what Tommy is capable of

We have a very special guest for this episode. Man of the moment and one of the artists that sets the course for techno as we speak, Shifted, is on duty for episode 19. Noone knows exactly who is behind this mysterious monnniker, all we know he is no newcomer to the electronic arena. His debutalbum \’Crossed Paths\’ on Luke Slater\’s Mote Evolver label, is a stunning collection of tracks: rich in textures and with an almost physical ambiance. He made this podcast especially for his appearance at the first edition of BALANS at Melkweg on friday the 6th of july. Enjoy the darkness and make sure you don\’t miss him in Amsterdam!
As always, we had our Q&A with the mystery man: Here

2011 has seen Shifted rise swiftly from the murky shadows of UK Techno. Little is known of who the cryptic producer is, but rest assured of his credentials. \’Drained\’, his first of two EPs on Luke Slater\’s esteemed Mote Evolver imprint instantly grabbed the attention of the Techno fraternity. A heavy, muscular and stripped sound was born from what was to become one of 2011\’s most exciting Techno artists. Releases under the pseudonyms Pacific Blue and Relay soon followed, continuing along Shifted\’s Techno lines, but built on a deeper, more understated sound.

Appearing on a limited blue vinyl, \’Industry Part 1 & 2\’ was the opening release on the Pacific Blue 12” series, with remixes following from Sandwell District artists Rrose and Silent Servant at the tail of 2011. Shifted\’s growing demand as a remixer himself led to reworks of UK Techno legends The Black Dog as well as peers Sigha and Cio D\’Or amongst others. Several \’secret\’ white labels were also released with which no name was attributed.

2011 also saw the launch of his Avian imprint. Confirming the calibre of Shifted\’s productions, the début (vinyl only) release \’AVN #001\’ struck a chord with its thudding drums and deep, pulsating stabs. The EP received weekly plays from Techno\’s top players and became a record that didn’t leave the bag. The equally illusive London-based producer, Ventress, laid down the follow-up release cementing the Avian label as \’one to watch\’ in 2012. With these productions and remixes gaining warranted attention on the dancefloor, Shifted\’s gig diary matured accordingly, DJing at some of the world\’s best clubs including the fabled Berghain (Berlin) and Fabric (London).

Looking forward, Shifted continues on from his second Mote Evolver 12”, \’Control\’, with his début album being released on the label in March 2012. Shifted has found home from home on the illustrious label and fits perfectly into its tough, hypnotic and often experimental style of Techno. On top of the Mote Evolver LP, 2012 will bring another solo production under the Pacific Blue alias, a remix for Planetary Assault Systems and undisclosed activity on his own Avian imprint.

Something about ROD:

Rod is the new techno alter ego of a popular Dutch DJ\’s Benny Rodrigues.
Where the 29 year old born and raised in Rotterdam normally look up the width of its quirky mix of house and techno, ROD is especially deep.

FIDE was created by Benny after he was during his (still lasting) sabbaticalrealized he was not always purist and extreme rotation.

But what do you want? Benny Rodrigues was the only DJ on the planet, both on and Awakenings in Latin Village can run – and still get away too!?This is not surprising when you consider that Benny since his early days in the 90 years has lost his heart to house and techno in the broadest sense.

FIDE is Benny\’s passport for pure abstract minimal techno as we know from the sets of productions and techno deities like Jeff Mills, Robert Hood& Luke Slater, but also of the now infamous Berghain residentMarcel-Detmann and Ben Klock. Ben Klock\’s also one that Rod\’s debut release Malmok early this year on his famous Klockworks label hasreleased.

Besides the many upcoming productions ROD, ROD shows are mainly as a DJ. And with his well-received debut gig at Lowlands Festival 2011techno fans already know, most of which is capable of FIDE.
