Time to talk straight about techno, but most importantly, get real with techno. We are going to talk about someone pure to the underground scene, someone who has more than 25 years in the techno music industry, working in various activities that constantly had to do with the development of techno scene.

It is the the Belgian based Dj and Producer Cri du Coeur, a blasting techno project from Jerome D., aka The G aka G-Rom.

We are dedicating this post to him, because of his tremendous production skills and of course his good taste in heavy techno elements. We just found he is breaking onto the scene again, but now with Arkham Audio, his new label, in which he would release soon in Vinyl and digital formats a powerful 3 track EP that has been entitled \”Diaphragm\”. This new material is comprised of an original mix and 2 guest remixes of the original track \”Diaphragm\”.

A little description of the EP:  \”Diaphragm (Original Mix) is an eerie and fast-paced techno beat, designed to leave you breathless as the manipulation of volume builds suspense as it minimises and maximises the elements. Accompanied by 2 other high-calibre versions, the Truncate remix brings the DJ’s recognisable touch to the stand-out hi-hats and overall hefty vibe of the track, while Kaiser’s take is a little more abstract from the original; bringing pure transformational and industrial grit to the forefront.\”

Time to engage with modern techno at its finest. Belgian techno wizard Cri Du Coeur is back with a new 2-part vinyl release on his label Arkham Audio titled ‘Erickson’ & ‘Erickson on Acid’, to be released simultaneously in digital format and vinyl on the 24th July, 2020.

In his new release, Cri Du Coeur is showing his francophile roots by having a solely French lineup for the remixes, definitely a selection to enjoy featuring Electric Rescue, [wex 10], Trunkline, Roman Poncet, Umwelt & Zadig.

Following the recent release of his EPs ‘Diaphragm’ and ‘Warning’, and now bringing us the inebriating ‘Erickson’ & ‘Erickson on Acid’, Cri Du Coeur has established that his new alias and freshly-founded but tenacious Arkham Audio label are a force to be reckoned with.

The entrancing yet adrenalizing sound that he has adopted shows that his approach to industrial electronic music knows no boundaries or compromises.

Tracks description.

The first part of this release features the original mix of ‘Erickson’ by Cri Du Coeur and remixes of the track by Electric Rescue, [ Wex 10 ], and Trunkline. The second part ‘Erickson on Acid’ puts a squelching acid twist on things and features remixes by Roman Poncet, Umwelt, and Zadig.

The original mix of ‘Erickson’ leads with a strong beat and a mixture of industrial sounds that makes for a sublime dark dancefloor track. Electric Rescue follows on with a remix that engages the listener with a terrorising yet intoxicating heavy base- line. Next up is [ Wex 10 ] who enchants us with a bouncy laserbeam rhythm and muffled looping vocals.

Last but not least on the ‘Erickson’ lineup is Trunkline’s remix which delivers an addictive hazy melody and a deep and dirty mechanical synth horn.

Cri Du Coeur plays with tensions in ‘Erickson (on Acid)’, putting the listener into a state of hypnosis with squelching sounds that give the song a raunchy character. We are implored to dance as Roman Poncet’s remix bears layers of lively percussion beats with twangy synth melodies. The mood intensifies once more as Umwelt’s remix features a dark and fuzzy baseline that contrasts with a screeching siren sound creating an ultimate thrilling experience for the listener. Zadig closes off this immense concoction of remixes with a relentless distorted base and scintillating machinelike background noises.

Cri Du Coeur has outdone himself by bringing together such a well-suited selection of artists to create a visceral and magnetizing collection of tracks that showcases his competence in making industrial techno.

Arkham Audio will release both \’Erickson\’ & \’Erickson on Acid\’ simultaneously in digital formats and on vinyl on the 24th July, 2020.

Hey, here we are, talking again about techno music, also talking again about the experienced blasting techno Belgian based Dj and Producer Cri du Coeur.

A few months ago we were talking about Cri du Coeur\’s already released powerful fast-paced techno \’Diaphragm EP\’, that was a succeed… it also was the first release and the one that give us the introduction of his new label Arkham Audio.

Well, following up on the waves made by his latest \’Diaphragm EP\’, Cri Du Coeur injects his signature high-octane sound into another techno venture . This one comes in the form of the electrifying 4-track EP warning on the Belgian producer’s fledgling-but- headstrong label Arkham Audio.

The new EP has been entitled \”Warning\” and featuring three remixes interweaving threatening cosmic soundscapes with pounding industrial beats, this latest EP pulls no punches in delivering a menacing wall of sound.

Tracks Description. Much is said about an EP, or it can be said, when it is remixed by great figures in the electronic music scene, because the remixers basically share the music project, and add elements of their own that make the original track better or more striking for other styles too, and that is spectacular. In this case, \’Warning EP\’ got remixed by Mark Broom and Dustin Zahn… so, you can imagine the rest.

Tracks Description.
The A-side opens with Cri’s original mix for Warning, showing off his signature style of making jumpy, liquid 303 basslines bounce around a consistent dark pad sound. The combination emanates a lingering sense of dread intensified by warped delayed vocal samples and high-voltage buzzing underpinning the whole experience.

Following up is a remix from American producer Dustin Zahn, who delivers a pulsa- ting battleground of modular noise. The essence of the track is the controlled chaos of the abstract mechanical whirring and wailing born from Zahn’s extensive synthesis experience, having worked as a remixer for Adam Beyer, Chris Liebing, Dubfire and many other high-profile acts.
UK producer Mark Broom dedicates two remixes for the B-side of the EP. The first is a dark, atmospheric groove with expert attention to detail paid to the percussive effects and the controlled movement of the synth parts, creating a powerful ebb and flow of soundscapes and textures and a set of unique builds and drops.

Closing off the EP, Mark Broom’s second track is a track more faithful to Cri’s original, opting to beef up the kick and switch up the pattern for an original clap intonation and, naturally, Broom’s own signature offer of complex intertwined synth effects.

The result is an anthemic warehouse filler that feels saturated with organic layers of electronic foliage. Mark Broom brings his own signature acid house influence that come from his first-hand experience of the Second Summer of Love, when his long- spanning career began.
Cri Du Coeur’s Warning is a no-holds-barred wonderland of cosmic soundscapes, hard-hitting rhythms and ominous industrial noise put together by three adept vete- ran producers that show no sign of slowing down this year.
Warning, featuring Dustin Zahn and Mark Broom, will be released through Cri Du Coeur’s own label Arkham Audio.
