Overview. We are happy to introduce the first retrospective compilation on the Hybrasil label, created as an armoury pack for DJs heading into the 2019 Festival & Ibiza season. Minimalism is at the core of how we work and live. These tracks are emblematic of that philosophy, they are written for dance floors and get to the point.
COMPILATION 01 features ‚Dam Buster‘ which was previously only available on vinyl. Prior support from Dave Clarke (White Noise Radio), Richie Hawtin, Carl Cox & Joris Voorn.
The artwork is the first in a series and features the work of Polish photographer Max Zarna.
The chosen photo was taken outside Dublin‘s Bord Gais Theatre, prior to Hybrasil‘s Live performance before Jeff Mills & the RTE Concert Orchestra.
Since his earliest productions, Amsterdam’s electronic music pioneer Steve Rachmad has created a legion of monikers for his various compositions. We’ve seen tracks from Black Scorpion, Tons of Tones, Rachmad Project, Scorp, Parallel 9, Ignacio, Dreg, Sterac Electronics and many more come out of his studio…
One of the main characters living on Planet Rachmad has always been STERAC: a side of Steve’s musical personality that’s not easily described. Let’s say that where other aliases were used for excursions to more dub-, disco-, or house- oriented records, STERAC’s focus has always been on the no-nonsense, darker, and deeper side of techno.
The STERAC discography consists of classic tracks on labels such as M-Plant and Tresor, with the 2012 remixes of his legendary album Secret Life Of Machines (1995) demonstrating the lasting quality of the STERAC oeuvre. Reinterpretations by Ricardo Villalobos, Joris Voorn, and Marc Romboy to name a few, proved a bit hit with fans and fellow artists.
This year, STERAC releases appear on Klockworks and Delsin, while his schedule takes him on a tour past the world’s finest clubs: from Berlin’s Berghain to Tokyo’s Womb, and from Output in New York to Club Rex in Paris. On top of that, a series of selected remixes is coming your way.
Today we\’ve choose a very strong kind of music for review, The Dutch techno legend Steve Rachmad, aka STERAC, joins the Klockworks ranks with an outstanding four-track EP, already released the past June 23rd, 2014, a very interesting project is cooking and we hope that the music keep on going because this four track EP is a really really powerful piece of art, four tunes that are going to bring madness to the dancefloor for sure. Opening the EP with \”Track 2\”, STERAC build a strong and banging techno sound, with little grumpy sounds in the background it makes a great groove, powerful groove! Meanwhile the second track \”Rotary\” brings mostly the same, but including a very chill and warm melody that just get your introduction for what is going to be stronger later on the EP. it get heavy every second until the track recovers the hard beats. And the last two tracks \”In circles\” and \”Scheetpsrecht\” continue what we\’ve talking about, dark sounds, deep and moody, but with uplifting strings and a Detroit feel, what a nice combination! Review: 8.5/10 Buy it now on Beatport
Press Release:Dutch techno legend Steve Rachmad, aka STERAC, joins the Klockworks ranks with an outstanding four-track EP, set for release on June 23rd.For almost 20 years, Steve Rachmad has concentrated on the kind of melodic, grooved club tracks that DJs love, releasing on labels such as Music Man, Rejected, Tresor and Wolfskuil. Over this time, he has been responsible for some of techno\’s true classics, \’Astronotes\’, \’Asphynx\’ and \’Thera\’ to name a few. The particular tracks signed by Ben Klock for KW12 draw from a number of the styles STERAC has explored over the years, and each add something else of their own.Opener \’Track 2\’ is punchy and brilliantly executed, setting the tone for the rest of the EP. It centres around coarse mid-range notes that develop throughout and bind the warm lows with high-frequency hiss.Rachmad uses a similar sound palette on \’Rotary\’, a track that featured prominently in Ben Klock\’s Fabric mix CD. This time he opts for a more spacious mix, allowing the unpredictable texture of hardware to create a retro bassline sure to get any crowd moving.\’In Circles\’ is deep and moody, but with uplifting strings and a Detroit feel. The strings give \’In Circles\’ the 3-dimensional, sci-fi quality that often marks out techno of the highest order, they are bouncy but reserved in their arrangement, keeping the track\’s energy in perfect balance.\’Scheepsrecht\’ ends this release in style. The producer weaves the core elements with canny arrangement and an endlessly-dynamic mix, resulting in hypnotic, hard-as-nails club gear.Bringing old-school production values up-to-date and keeping that unmistakable Dutch flavour, STERAC shows another side to the Klockworks sound. KW12 is sure to be on constant rotation amongst techno DJs of all styles, and will prove itself to be yet another essential Rachmad record.
Biography of Steve Rachmad: Amongst his earliest achievements was releasing the full length Secret Life of Machines back in 1995. A definitive techno album that was very much an instant classic from Rachmad (under his Sterac alias), 2012 sees it getting touched up, slowed down and remixed by the likes of Ricardo Villalobos, Joris Voorn and more, ready for release on influential Dutch label, 100% Pure. Mentioning releases, remixes or labels on which Steve Rachmad has shown his craftsmanship, or boasting about clubs and festivals on which he has left his mark, would just make for another list of names, places and brands…. Let’s not do that. Feel free to visit the usual channels such as Discogs, Soundcloud or Beatport and take your pick of the numerous productions and DJ sets, which are the result of more than two decades of dedication, sweat, and the polishing of a one of a kind talent… Because as Miles had his horn and Pablo took to canvas, Steve has an unequalled gift for making a connection with every thinkable drum machine and synthesizer out there… If the man had kids, boys would carry names as Roland or Robert (Moog), and a girl would surely be named Linn, after the machine made famous by Prince in the 80’s. No wonder one of his major achievements is the album Secret Life Of The Machines. Released in 1995, the force of this piece still lingers on today, resulting in last years re-release with remixes by people like Ricardo Villalobos, Joris Voorn and Marc Romboy… For music to have this kind of a timeless value is a rare thing in the current electronic music scene. As a DJ he is constantly reinventing himself. Set firmly in the best that techno and house have to offer at the moment he draws inspiration from his love for high quality disco and electro from the past. A thing you can clearly hear in the four-hour set he did at Berlin’s Panoramabar last year.
As words can never describe the feeling one gets from good music we will end here advising you to go check him out and hear for yourself what Steve is all about.

We had a technical / sound problem at min 79 so I had to re-start with a new track… Nothing than Chemical Brothers + 5.000 crazy people cant beat.
Music, work, friends and life in general is all about balance for Dutch DJ, producer and promoter Darko Esser. And more importantly finding and keeping that balance despite all the contradictions, rollercoasterrides and paradoxes life can put in front of you. It’s what binds us all like sleep, breathing and eating. No suprise that his debutalbum is dedicated to that neverending quest for balance,
or as the Dutch call it: ‘Balans’. Most tracks on the album have opposing titles and the atmosphere changes from dark, moody and emotional to uplifting, cheerfull and happy. Sometimes even within the same track.
Finding balance in contradictions is also the main reason why his activities cover such a wide range and can be completely different in character. From programming the electronic music-events for the legendary Dutch venue Doornroosje to DJ-ing all over Europe back to making music in the solitude of his homestudio and selecting tracks for new releases on his Wolfskuil imprint. The difference between these activities is not entirely contradictory, because it’s all about the music at the end of the day.
As a DJ he has more then 15 years of experience in the bag and has played all over Europe in world famous clubs such as Berghain & Panoramabar, Rex, Tresor, 11, House Of God and off course his homebase Doornroosje. His sound is versatile and strongly depends on the setting and atmosphere of that particular moment. One could say that his sound is strongly settles on the crossing borders between house & techno, but don’t be surprised if he takes a sideway into broken beat, dubstep, electronics or the undiscribable.
With a discography of over 30 releases, including international clubhits like ‘Paradox’ (Underwater), ‘Catatonic’ (Ovum) and ‘The Return’ on his own Wolfskuil imprint, Darko has established a solid reputation in the producer department ever since his first records came out in 2003. His releases receive massive support from international keyplayers as diverse as Laurent Garnier, Dave Clarke, Sasha, John Digweed, Steve Bug, Francois K, Luke Slater and Len Faki. Following this succes he was asked to remix tracks from Anthony Pappa, Sharam Jey, Davide Squillace and King Roc amongst others.
In 2003 he started the label Wolfskuil Records together with his good friend LL. Nowadays he runs the label by himself and activity has been increasing over the years thanks to overwhelming support from the industry and off course an increasing input of strong demos. The evergrowing Wolfskuil family ranges from young producers who release their first record to established musician like Joris Voorn, DJ Yellow, Benny Rodrigues and Paul Brtschitsch. He is very ambitious with the label, so watch out for more artistalbums in the following years.
As a promoter he is involved in more then a 100 events each year ranging from small clubshows as programdirector for electronic music in Doornroosje and Merleyn, to programming festivals up to 15.000 capacity, like Free Your Mind in Arnhem. Music- and genrewise there are no limitions, since quality manifests itself in many different shapes and sounds.
Music keeps the balance.

In the mid-90s Siegling, who did a degree in film studies, went to check out the Hong Kong cinema scene. There, a mutual friend introduced him to Amil Khan and after they discovered a shared taste in electronic music, Technasia was born. They chose to base Technasia and their record label Sino in Hong Kong because there was no scene there, no record shops, no underground, no infrastructure. It was initially a battle for survival, but the location is vital to the Technasia ethos of music as communication. “Language is THE ultimate barrier,” says Siegling. He strives to overcome the barrier in his own life by picking up languages wherever he goes – he speaks Mandarin, Cantonese, Spanish and Italian, among others – but ultimately he chooses to communicate through sound. “Electronic music is the greatest language of all. No words, just the vibration, the emotion and the beat.”
Charles has a burning ambition to create music that transcends cultural barriers, and to captivate every audience. The proof of his success is in the list of clubs and festivals Technasia has played. Fans around the globe, from China, to Colombia, to the Czech Republic, know Technasia’s classic anthems including ‘Force’, ‘Oxide’ and ‘Evergreen’. And they know that every Technasia show takes the music to new heights. When DJing, Charles always plays on three decks, showcasing the old-fashioned arts of cutting and scratching. Live, Technasia takes audiences on an unforgettable ride. Charles literally becomes a one-man band, playing keyboards, percussion and acoustic instruments. He even sings. Anything to create irresistible energy and atmosphere. “I want my audience having fun,” explains Siegling. “Not falling asleep, or going off to the bar for a beer.”
The performance aspect of Technasia is complemented by artist albums ‘Future Mix’ and ‘Popsoda’ – which are modern classics. Siegling is also an outspoken promoter of young talent, using the Sino imprint as a launch pad for talent including Joris Voorn, Renato Cohen, Steve Rachmad and young Catalan producer Dosem. He has straightforward criteria for what makes a Sino artist: talent and individuality. Charles is refreshingly direct – he has no patience for industry politics – and he seeks out musicians who have a similar strength of character and clarity of purpose. “I share my knowledge with artists who deserve a push,” says Siegling. “So when they are ready to fly, they can do it on their own.”
2010 is a red-letter year for Technasia fans, thanks to the release of third artist album ‘Central’. Technasia’s first ‘solo’ LP, ‘Central’ marks the evolution of their trademark sophisticated, intelligent techno. “It represents a continuity of all the albums, it builds from them,” Siegling explains. “It grew out of new ways of combining melodies emotions and energetic beats.” Technasia is undertaking an extensive tour to promote ‘Central’ and remix support comes from the likes of Marc Romboy, Mauro Picotto, Dosem and Renato Cohen. No wonder Siegling is bubbling with delight: “This is my legacy,” he says proudly. “This is what people will remember me for.”
Something about Hans Bouffmyhre: \”Hans started off his career in 2006 when he began to promote his own party in Glasgow called \’Sleaze\’ where he booked and played alongside the likes of Andrew Weatherall, Funk D\’ Void, Chloe, Radio Slave, Johannes Heil, Extrawelt, Phil Keiran, Len Faki & Par Grindvik! At the start of 2007, Hans started learning about music production and making his own tracks. He now boasts releases on many recog
nised labels including Electric Deluxe, Perc Trax, Viva Music, Soma, Synewave, Harthouse, 8 Sided Dice, Analytictrail aswell as starting his own label Sleaze Records. Over the years Hans\’ tracks have gained regular support & plays from some of the biggest names in Techno, including Richie Hawtin, Dubfire, Adam Beyer, Chris Liebing, Len Faki, Ben Klock, Speedy J, Laurent Garnier, Stephan Bodzin, Joris Voorn and many more!
Hard work and dedication has ensured that Sleaze Records is now placed firmly as one of the best techno labels in the UK, if not the world. Hans is also making a big impact as a travelling DJ, with impressive DJ sets at the infamous Berghain in Berlin, the Slam Tent at Scotland\’s biggest festival T In The Park, Melkweg in Amsterdam and many other clubs & festivals across the globe. At only 25 years old and already with so much experience as a DJ, Producer & Label Manager, the future looks bright for Hans Bouffmyhre.\”
