Review. With ‘Basement Jams’, James Ruskin and Mark Broom put out four new tracks of techno at its finest. This is the proper way to end the year, with heavyweight basslines, sharp stabs, tough grooves and a high level of funk industrial sounds. Amazing release.

Blueprint returns with its final release for 2020, which sees label head, James Ruskin once again join forces with long-term collaborator, Mark Broom.

Hey, here we are, talking again about techno music, also talking again about the experienced blasting techno Belgian based Dj and Producer Cri du Coeur.

A few months ago we were talking about Cri du Coeur\’s already released powerful fast-paced techno \’Diaphragm EP\’, that was a succeed… it also was the first release and the one that give us the introduction of his new label Arkham Audio.

Well, following up on the waves made by his latest \’Diaphragm EP\’, Cri Du Coeur injects his signature high-octane sound into another techno venture . This one comes in the form of the electrifying 4-track EP warning on the Belgian producer’s fledgling-but- headstrong label Arkham Audio.

The new EP has been entitled \”Warning\” and featuring three remixes interweaving threatening cosmic soundscapes with pounding industrial beats, this latest EP pulls no punches in delivering a menacing wall of sound.

Tracks Description. Much is said about an EP, or it can be said, when it is remixed by great figures in the electronic music scene, because the remixers basically share the music project, and add elements of their own that make the original track better or more striking for other styles too, and that is spectacular. In this case, \’Warning EP\’ got remixed by Mark Broom and Dustin Zahn… so, you can imagine the rest.

Tracks Description.
The A-side opens with Cri’s original mix for Warning, showing off his signature style of making jumpy, liquid 303 basslines bounce around a consistent dark pad sound. The combination emanates a lingering sense of dread intensified by warped delayed vocal samples and high-voltage buzzing underpinning the whole experience.

Following up is a remix from American producer Dustin Zahn, who delivers a pulsa- ting battleground of modular noise. The essence of the track is the controlled chaos of the abstract mechanical whirring and wailing born from Zahn’s extensive synthesis experience, having worked as a remixer for Adam Beyer, Chris Liebing, Dubfire and many other high-profile acts.
UK producer Mark Broom dedicates two remixes for the B-side of the EP. The first is a dark, atmospheric groove with expert attention to detail paid to the percussive effects and the controlled movement of the synth parts, creating a powerful ebb and flow of soundscapes and textures and a set of unique builds and drops.

Closing off the EP, Mark Broom’s second track is a track more faithful to Cri’s original, opting to beef up the kick and switch up the pattern for an original clap intonation and, naturally, Broom’s own signature offer of complex intertwined synth effects.

Listen below to PREMIERE of Cri Du Coeur – Warning (Dustin Zahn Remix)… aslo keep scrolling down for full details.

Overview. Following up on the waves made by his latest Diaphragm EP, Cri Du Coeur injects his signature high-octane sound into another techno venture. This one comes in the form of the electrifying 4-track EP Warning on the Belgian producer’s fledgling-but- headstrong label Arkham Audio. Featuring three remixes interweaving threatening cosmic soundscapes with pounding industrial beats, this latest EP pulls no punches in delivering a menacing wall of sound.

The result is an anthemic warehouse filler that feels saturated with organic layers of electronic foliage. Mark Broom brings his own signature acid house influence that come from his first-hand experience of the Second Summer of Love, when his long- spanning career began.
Cri Du Coeur’s Warning is a no-holds-barred wonderland of cosmic soundscapes, hard-hitting rhythms and ominous industrial noise put together by three adept vete- ran producers that show no sign of slowing down this year.
Warning, featuring Dustin Zahn and Mark Broom, will be released through Cri Du Coeur’s own label Arkham Audio.

The upcoming EP is scheduled to be out digitally on June 11, 2021, and in its vinyl format TBA. Stay tuned and find full details below. We recommend this EP.

Hello people, welcome to another day in the galaxy of techno music, surfing without a certain final point. So, let\’s talk about the upcoming music that is going to be released in Mark Broom\’s Beard Man records in December.

As you may know, and if don\’t know, now you know. Mark Broom is fast becoming as expert at providing a platform for burgeoning artists via his Beard Man label; highlighting talent from the international techno scene.

This is the first time we are talking about this very interesting label in Living Techno, but definitely it\’s not going to be the last one, for sure next year will bring lots of dark techno music, as that is what characterizes mark brooms style, and what he is discovering and bringing to his own record label.

Now, the label is announcing their special release to close 2019,  and it\’s a tremendous EP by the Dj and producer from Paris, Kmyle

This next release sees Kmyle making his Beard Man debut with the ‘Human Flaws EP’, where he delivers his powerful techno sound across four new tracks that burst with heavy drums and tight percussion, proving that Kmyle is undoubtedly an artist to watch.

‘Human Flaws EP’ official release date is scheduled for December 6, 2019 via Mark Broom\’s Beard Man Recordings. We didn\’t choose a favorite track from this upcoming release, because all the tracks are brilliant. This is some pretty dark techno, we like it a lot.

Listen some Kmyle music in his Soundcloud profile.

Overview. Mark Broom is fast becoming as expert at providing a platform for burgeoning artists via his Beard Man label; highlighting talent from the international techno scene (like Avision, Rene Wise or Absent) as he is behind the decks or in the studio. And to close the year, his label showcases another of these: Kmyle.
Kmyle is an energetic artist who has begun to build a strong reputation through his productions and collaborations. A hardened machinist, he delights in bringing this energy to his Live Hardware performances and DJ sets which are calibrated for the dance floor, taking him to clubs and festivals around the world like, Concrete, Rex Club, Razzmatazz, Astropolis (Greece), Arena Berlin, Egg London, Griessmühle and more, plus a recent tour of India and China.
Following a number of highly-received EP releases and an artist album, ‘Northern Landscapes’ on Electric Rescue’s Skryptöm Records, the France-based Kmyle was then signed up to the discerning Clergy Records in 2017, which has so far resulted in two solo EPs and a collaboration with Clergy label boss, Cleric that also boasted a remix from Blueprint’s James Ruskin, earlier in 2019.
This next release sees Kmyle making his Beard Man debut with the ‘Human Flaws EP’, where he delivers his powerful techno sound across four new tracks that burst with heavy drums and tight percussion, proving that Kmyle is undoubtedly an artist to watch.

Until next episode my friends, enjoy life and techno music.

We love compilations, especially when they bring a high caliber of the finest techno music selection. And we have a good recommendation if you are looking for one. It is the upcoming compilation that the British DJ, producer and founder of Counterchange Recordings, Inland (Ed Davenport) has prepared and mixed. This is, –as he describe it– his biggest project to date, bringing together over 20 artists in a DJ-ready compilation of colourful, diverse modern techno on his label Counterchange.

\”Complete with a 90 minute continuous mix by Inland himself, the project celebrates over 15 years behind the decks and cements Davenport’s reputation not only as a tireless force in the studio, but as a trusted selector and curator of contemporary club music. Spanning deep idm-rooted studies, lush chord-driven euphoria, powerful modernist workouts and tough house-groove jackers, Davenport weaves an addictive mix full of character and his precision mixing style.

From veterans and heroes like DJ Skull, Efdemin, Joel Mull, Boddika, Peter Van Hoesen, and Mark Broom (alongside Discrete Circuit), to a new echelon of up-and-coming talent like Rhyw, Sophia Saze, Jamaica Suk, Johanna Knutsson, Aiken, DJ Sodeyama, Perm and Felix Fleer, there’s an underlying thread of shimmering production values and close attention to detail in every track. Inland also selected debuts from Berlin based artists Fred Mann and Arbitrage, and welcomes back BNJMN, P. Lopez and Distant Echoes to the label, now in its 7th year of operation.\”

This release is a bomb, stay tuned and read below for full details. Release date is scheduled for February 21st, 2020 in 4 x 12” / DJ mix / Digital formats via Counterchange Recordings.

Overview. British DJ and producer Inland (Ed Davenport) has compiled and mixed ‘Stream State’, his biggest project to date, bringing together over 20 artists in a DJ-ready compilation of colourful, diverse modern techno on his label Counterchange.

Inland also selected debuts from Berlin based artists Fred Mann and Arbitrage, and welcomes back BNJMN, P. Lopez and Distant Echoes to the label, now in its 7th year of operation.
‘Stream State’ is Inland’s celebration of the DJ mix / compilation format. Enamoured with UK dance music culture in the mid 90s, the burning, illicit energy of early rave mixtapes left a huge impression. Mystical bootlegs recorded at mass gatherings in fields or late night Radio One transmissions captured on cassette – their eternal spirit was absorbed and cherished. Now more than 2 decades later, Davenport has channeled that fascination into this weighty collector’s item and a captivating continuous mix.
All 22 tracks included are new and original productions made by some of Inland’s favourite artists and colleagues. A network and a community – complied and presented by an artist who continues to demonstrate his longevity and unique voice in the scene.
In 2020 Inland will play a series of ‘Stream State’ events hosting a selection of the artists involved at celebrated venues around the world. The first announced dates are to be held at IFZ in Leipzig, The Block in Tel Aviv, FOLD in London, ://about blank in Berlin, Nitsa in Barcelona, Vurt in Seoul, Gare in Porto and a pre-release event at Spacehall record store, Berlin.
