The release includes 3 well crafted original tracks in which the producer aims to create a nuanced mix between dark progressive rhythms, harmonious melodies, smart sounds, alarm-stricken synths and an ambience in which each track will make you love EdOne’s avant-garde and not traditional techno format. Nice debut!

Hello folks, how is it going, if you want to listen to beautiful sounds, im glad to inform you that we also have space to talk about electronic music at its finest, i mean, marvelous sounds, quiet genres that are basically shaped by authentic storytellers, producers of rhythms that can create a whole progressive level of ambient, dub and electronic music.

As one of our latest discovers in the wide electronic music world, it\’s time to talk about Konstantinos Soublis aka Fluxion. He is in general terms a genuine Techno/Dub/Ambient producer from Athens, Greece, someone who goes from avant-guard electronic dance music to techno with ambient textures, and that has been releasing his music since 1998 in a variety of labels as Chain Reaction, Echocord, Lucidflow, Type, and many others.

Now, he just announced the release of his upcoming album of magical sounds, dub and melodies of another level. Entitled \”Perspectives\” this new album contain 10 beautiful tracks and is scheduled to be released in April 24th, 2020 in Vinyl and Digital formats under Vibrant Music recordings.

\”This album reflects on moments and moods, but in the process of doing so it manages to balance between listening environments, making it a fine full LP listening experience, and at the same time offering some great club choices, with tracks like \”Formation“, “Glimpses“, \”Dawn“, “Glimpses II“ and \”Cliff“ a version of which has been released by XLR8R last year.

With \”Perspective“ Fluxion has no intention to impress, but rather express in a more honest way, and share a moment in time, full of intimate moods, and take us on a journey… One where feeling the music, is at the center.\”

Overview. Fluxion is an artist with a long-standing contribution to the electronic music scene. „Perspectives“ is the artist‘s 9th full length album under this moniker. His collaborations over the years with top boutique labels, such as Chain Reaction and Echocord records, and his total volume of albums and eps, place him at the forefront of the electronic music scene, for more than 20 years. From avant-guard electronic dance music to techno with ambient textures, Fluxion has managed to stay at the forefront producing music that helped shape up a whole scene.
„Perspectives“ is a more personal album expressing the artist’s state of mind at a specific point in time where the need for change was a necessity…
There are moments in every artistic path, where instead of following a concept, an instinct, a theorem, music becomes the tool that allows you to see and reflect more clearly on your own feelings.
Music has this unique ability to talk straight to your inner world, and doesn’t necessarily request the process and the complexities of an analytical mind in order to be understood..It can just be felt.
That is at the core of “Perspectives”, which sees a release on the artist‘s imprint Vibrant Music.
This album reflects on moments and moods, but in the process of doing so it manages to balance between listening environments, making it a fine full LP listening experience, and at the same time offering some great club choices, with tracks like „Formation“,“Glimpses“. „Dawn“,“Glimpses II“ and „Cliff“ a version of which has been released by XLR8R last year.

m the most recondite places where disco, house and tech house melodies inhabit, to where electro, techno and modern sounds emerge, Living Techno presents the Volume one of the new Living Techno Essentials series. (more…)

Hello, i think there is also time to talk about something new, if you know what i mean. Definitely a pleasure of life, is to found  new and original rhythms, emerging artists of the present, and new sounds with future, not sounds of the future.

This post is to know Dario Garcia aka Notzing, a producer born in Madrid. He has been experimenting with sound since his childhood, establishing his professional beginning as producer in 2012, when he joins to a squad of the Spanish Freetekno movement, releasing some works in 12” on labels like Kunda or Obs.Cur, one of the most important Dutch acid labels.

These days, he is going to release a new EP of four tracks entitled \”Sōgi\”. This upcoming release \”explores the death and the Japanese funerary rites from an anthropological point of view.\” This work reflects a contrast between modern and traditional ideas. Also reflects a very well elaborated sound, that seems was made using the most modern and cutting-edge electronic textures and sounds that only Notzing can create.

The official release date is scheduled for November 22nd, 2019 in Vinyl and Digital formats trough Koryu Budo recordings. Stay tuned and read below for full details.

In the meanwhile the previews are coming, listen to some sounds created by Notzing uploaded to his soundcloud.

Overview. Sōgi explores the death and the Japanese funerary rites from an anthropological point of view. This work reflects a contrast between modern and traditional ideas. It‘s comprised of four different acts:
1.     Seppukku Routes the listener heart into the last minutes of the mind of a lost person, with no hope, sank in a sea of modern worries and low self-esteem. The piece is a tunnel of anxiety and desperation that ends in a traditional form of suicide. This act should be listened from a first person perspective.
2.     Sōgi  Routes the listener mind into the funeral rite of the person who committed the suicide. Minimal, contemplative and meditative tendencies. The prayers are full of shame and stupefaction after discovering the corpse. The others can’t explain the reasons of why he put end to his life. This act should be listened from a third person perspective.
3.     Kasō  Routes the listener body into the deceased‘s soul during the cremation process. The sensation of being trapped inside the coffin, entering the furnace, full of culpability and rage about all those who feel shame, disappearing from the physical world. This act should be listened from a first person perspective.
4.     Onryō Routes the listener soul into another metaphysical plane. The purgatory itself as an entity, expels the vengeful soul of the deceased person out, who blinded by grief, is coming back to a place between the physical plane and the astral plane. This act is influenced by the sounds and sensations that can be listened, experimented and felt during an astral projection, when the person is traveling through the different reality planes.

Heads up, Berghain / Panorama Bar resident Efdemin is next on Stroboscopic Artefacts\’ Totem series, a unique set of releases pressed on transparent 10” vinyl that \”aims to meld the artistic resonance of each forthcoming release into an emblematic representation of the sounds that are to be presented\”.

Efdemin, real name Phillip Sollmann, has developed an extended discography on labels such as Dial, Curle or his own Naïf label with recent releases as the CD-mix compilation on Curle earlier this year and his collaboration with PAN’s Konrad Sprenger and Oren Ambarchi for Ostgut Ton’s sub-label A-TON.

Following EPs By Luke Slater as L.B. Dub Corp and the label head Lucy, the Berlin legend presents 3 cuts that illustrate different perspectives of the same idea. ‘Wrong Movements’ will be out on December 7th. Efdemin also make his appearance in the Stroboscopic Artefacts showcase at ADE 2018.

Listen to Efdemin\’s Wrong Movements (Circles) full track:

Overview: Stroboscopic Artefacts returns with another strong addition to its Totem series, a unique set of releases pressed on transparent 10” vinyl, capturing the essence and effusiveness of multidimensionality of club culture. Bridging the gap between the worlds of sound and material objects, Totem is a series that aims to meld the artistic resonance of each forthcoming release into an emblematic representation of the sounds that are to be presented, clearly within the grooves seen and heard on the 10”. Stepping up for the third release in the series is Berlin legend Efdemin — bringing a three-track journey that is unequivocally enduring and flexible for journeys on-and-off the dancefloor.
While each track shares the same title, the textures and traits are different — with the A1, “Circles” setting things up with pertinent percussion and staccato synth lines; as Efdemin sways towards another side with “Left” — a heady, hedonistic thumper with exuberant melodic bursts; followed by a therapeutic sequel with “Right” — closing out the release with a melange of spacious efficacy, something the Berlinbased producer has been known for throughout his near-two-decade career. Between releasing for the likes of Ostgut Ton, Curle, Dial, and his own imprint Naïf; Efdemin takes on the challenge of Totem’s conceptual subjugation and subverts it with his emotionally honest take on a stimulating and subdural sonic experience within three parts. Narratively dense and expertly-paced, the Totem series carries on with another outer-worldly insertion to its catalog.

This is the first time the outstanding experimental techno producers Lucy and Rrose have teamed up under the collaborative moniker \”The Lotus Eaters\” to announce their debut album \”Desatura\” that sees the project return to Stroboscopic Artefacts and explores very interesting \”themes of physical density, emptiness and space,\” according to the press release. Also defines their style as a synthesized sound and feedback as fundamental sources to generate both textural and percussive elements. The ten-track LP will be released on vinyl, CD and digital this October.

The two techno producers have previously released collaborative EPs titled The Lotus Eaters in 2016 on Lucy\’s label Stroboscopic Artefacts and 2018 on Rrose\’s Eaux, but this announcement is special because has finally make The Lotus Eatear an oficial collabs that will premiere as a live act at ADE this autumn.

The LP will be available as a double 12″, on CD and digital formats and is available to preorder here.

Overview:  Lucy and Rrose, now coming together as The Lotus Eaters, have established themselves separately as techno artists who are just as comfortable operating in the uncharted area of experimental music. Running their own labels (Stroboscopic Artefacts and Eaux, respectively), they have gained a cult following, both influencing and challenging the direction of techno. Their first collaboration took the form of mutual remixes. Lucy remixed Rrose, taking on his modern classic “Waterfall” while Rrose remixed Dadub for Stroboscopic Artefacts, and shortly thereafter contributed an extended EP as part of SA’s Monad series. Eventually, the idea of working together became inevitable. Several intense sessions in Lucy’s Berlin studio followed, using mainly analog hardware. These sessions gave birth to a new project, starting with two EPs signed Lucy and Rrose, called “The Lotus Eaters” (SA) and “The Lotus Eaters II” (Eaux). With the “Desatura” album, the first release signed under the project name The Lotus Eaters, their common work is refined further, also becoming a live act which will debut at ADE (Amsterdam) 2018. With “Desatura,” Lucy and Rrose explore themes of physical density, emptiness, and space, creating sonic objects which can be rotated and viewed from multiple perspectives. Eschewing the typical instrumentation of techno, the duo use synthesized sound and feedback as fundamental sources to generate both textural and percussive elements. A sense of tension and weight emerge from sources that cannot be easily pinpointed. The resulting album forms a complex narrative from a paradoxically simple and restrained set of sound sources. A mysterious and profound accomplishment.

Well, you really have to recognize that in the 15 years of experience in the electronic scene, the Berlin based Techno label founded by Len Faki, FIGURE, has made a lot of noise! Now its time to celebrate, as Len Faki presents big tracks by big artists like KiNK AKA Kirilik, Lady Starlight, Len Faki itself & more featuring on 15th anniversary compilation \’FIGURE 100\’ already released at beatport. Full streaming of the copilation is available from Spotify and more! go below.

Celebrating its 15th anniversary as well as the monolithic catalogue #100, Figure releases a gem-packed compilation featuring 15 artists who are shaping the current sound of the label.

Ranging from machine-driven stompers courtesy of Juxta Position, Kirilik or Lady Starlight, to punchy electro by Viers and UBX127, to Nocow‘s signature style wavey melancho-electronics, to the straight-up high-voltage-techno of Shlomi Aber, Lewis Fautzi and captain Len Faki himself, all adequately framed by Setaoc Mass‘ beautiful ambient pieces – this 4 LP-set encompasses everything Figure both past, present and future.

Arriving in a unique gatefolded sleeve that carries the exclusive handmade visual art by Munich artist Julia Schewalie. Whether long time fan or newly recruited follower, this one is a must-have entry in every techno-lover‘s collection.

Overview: Few labels have managed the feat of staying around long enough to be called a true classic while at the same time ceaselessly pushing their genre forward, thus turning into a catalyst for the scene’s growth as a whole. Figure is one such an exceptional imprint, celebrating its 15th anniversary this year. Coinciding with the monumental catalogue number 100, the label has gathered a group of their most defining current artist both for a very special compilation as well as sending them on an Figure 100 tour across selected european clubs.
Over the years Figure has unfolded a sound that still carries the big bravado of techno’s early days but also embodies modern minimalism and efficiency. New additions to the roster have further broadened the label’s spectrum: while Lady Starlight, Kirilik (aka KiNK) and Juxta Position recently accounted for some machine-heavy outings, young producers such as Setaoc Mass, Viers and Nocow brought in fresh and original perspectives. Equally important in the evolution process were regular contributors like veteran mainstay Jeroen Search and Roman Poncet. Steering this constant progression with a clear vision has always been the one Len Faki, whose uninterrupted passion has driven the label since its inception in 2003; a series of sub-labels have complemented the discography, such as the lately-launched Figure Jams or the already concluded chapters of Figure SPC and Podium. With Faki as a genuine figurehead leading the course and a crew of auspicious artists manning the rows, Figure will keep sailing with full speed ahead!

Hello folks, reaching out today just to announce that Veronica Vasicka, owner of the Minimal Wave and Cititrax’s record labels, will put out her debut solo EP, ‘From Here’, which will land on Regis imprint Downwards on November 2nd on vinyl and digital formats.

Known as a co-founder of East Village Radio, Veronica Vasicka has dedicated her life to unearthing the long lost gems of the early 80s via her Minimal Wave imprint, as well as curating thrilling modern music for her sub-label Cititrax. The NYC native is now presenting her first solo record which features a song she recorded in 2004 with no intent to be released. ‘From Here’ will have versions by Regis himself, former Nitzer Ebb and Depeche Mode collaborator Paul Kendall and Chasm aka Robert Hampson – founder of the legendary band Loop and also Main.

Overview: Having dedicated her life to unearthing the long lost gems of the early 80s via her Minimal Wave imprint, as well as curating thrilling modern music for her sub-label Cititrax, Veronica Vasicka has made a name for herself calling the shots from behind the curtain. Today, she steps into the spotlight as the headline artist with her highly anticipated debut solo 12\” on Regis\’ imprint, Downwards. \’From Here\’ was recorded in 2004, with no intent to be released. Framed by a larger, more intimate process for Veronica, who was then keeping a sonic diary of her daily adventures via a 4-track recorder and analog synths, it puts into perspective the personal evolution and singular nature of one of today\’s most acclaimed DJs and selectors to frequent the stages.   Setting up an out and out anxiogenic, eerie industrial atmosphere from your darkest fantasies, Veronica\’s original mix burns slowly, like a glowing candle in the cold night. Exposing a musical identity both sensuous and disenchanted, the track gets all the more dancy and carnal in the hands of Regis, who tweaks it into a smooth libertine late-nighter. Second to counter-seal \’From Here\’, former Nitzer Ebb and Depeche Mode collaborator Paul Kendall transforms it into a more riff-charged, busy sound design where textured membranes dangerously bleed into one another as distortions convulse recognisable shapes into an abstract tableau of machine whispers and altered fragrances. To top things off in regal manner, Robert Hampson – founder of the legendary band Loop and also Main – adds a propulsive, hi-NRG twist and delay-soaked dimension to the vibrant multiverse that makes for a variedly-nuanced debut 12\”. A unique, shape-shifting object that suits Veronica Vasicka\’s complex musical persona like a glove. And finally, the artwork is designed by Veronica herself, featuring two self-portraits she shot on 35mm film at 16 years of age.

If you’ve seen Loco Dice perform at his ten-year-long Tribehouse residency in his hometown Düsseldorf, or at DC- 10 in Ibiza (from ’02-’06), you will have clicked to this. Loco Dice is someone, who can puzzle together intangible moods with a direct approach.
Via his DJ sets or his productions on labels like M_nus, Cadenza, Ovum, Four Twenty and Cocoon, he merges perspectives in his delicate sense for sounds and reflective atmospheres, underpinned with solid, physical grooves inspired by the hip hop that was his early sonic stomping ground in the mid- to late ‘90s. There’s something there for the dreamers, as well as for the 9-to-5ers who just want to lose everything in a moment of abandon on the dancefloor.
Don’t think that merging of perspectives is accidental. This Loco Dice, with his mercurial temperament, may let his thoughts run away with him, but he tends to chase those ideas and make them into an artistic reality. His DJ sets, whether at Germany’s biggest rave Timewarp, Cocoon in Ibiza or a beach party in South America, are spontaneous orchestrations fueled by the nuances of a night/venue/crowd. He began a fruitful studio partnership with Martin Buttrich in 2002 leading to tracks like Phatt Dope Shit, MeninaBrasiliera, and Seeing ThroughShadows, and Dice meticulously plans these productions.
It’s a directorial, cinematic outlook, which permeates Dice’s everyday life, and comes not just from the outlandish escapades and scrapes that he has sometimes found himself living out in real life. It also stems from elaborate film scripts imagined as a young Loco Dice on the streets of Flingern in Düsseldorf and the Kerkennah Islands in Tunisia. This continues to be a habit of Loco Dice’s today: to close his eyes for just one minute, and see a whole cornucopia of scenes and atmospheres.

Something about Carl Cox:   Out of so many highs it is difficult to pin-point the peak for me – it is a close call between The Love Parade and the dawn of the millennium. Playing for a crowd of 1,500,00 up-for-it clubbers in Berlin was the ultimate DJing experience in terms of seeing how wide reaching music can be but then being lucky enough to see in the millennium not once but twice – first on Bondi pavilion, then hopping on a jet over the timeline to Honolulu, Hawaii, was also pretty special.

More recently I have given up my residency at Base in order to concentrate on spreading myself even further afield. But don\’t worry, in between producing, writing, remixing, presenting, TV appearances, managing, not forgetting DJing I will still be making regular appearances at Base and hanging with the very people who got me where I am today.

Biography of Filterheadz: Here’s a story about two brothers. The Wilmaers brothers. Kids of the seventies. Both having the ball of their lives when vinyl was king and 8 track tapes were creating history. Then, mid-eighties arrived. The brothers grew up. They got influenced immensely by The Police, U2 and Simple Minds. With the older brother on the guitar and kid brother on the drums, they formed a band with few close allies, all felt strongly destined to become rock stars of the future.
Who would have thought, a decade has passed, and the dream of becoming rock stars took a surprised twist. They found themselves shifting their interests to dance music when they were introduced to Roger Sanchez, Masters at Work and David Morales. A whole new perspective on dance music emerged and shone through the whole eurotrance culture that was ruling the Belgian airwaves at that moment, and the boys started experimenting with loops and disco samples. Their very first few US style house tracks saw the light.
Armed with those house tracks, the boys approached Headroom label boss Bart Grinaert, who saw the potential in them and took them under his wings. The Headroom gang taught Bert and Maarten all they needed to know about dance music – the beats, the sounds and plenty of studio tricks. After a few releases under several monikers, they decided to go with ‘Filterheadz’, with the idea of releasing some more ‘filterdisco’ records.
The turning point for Filterheadz arrived when Jo Casters, head of A&R at Mostika found some of their early works on his desk. Jo got in touched with the brothers, and requested for a long string of remixes. Minimalistix’s ‘Struggle for Pleasure’ stood out amongst the rest. But Jo wanted more. The boys headed off to Ibiza to check out the vibe and discovered the whole Sasha&Digweed thing. With the sounds of Space Terrace still ringing in their ears, they headed straight to their studio upon returning, and started working on remixes that made it to the become the very few biggest progressive tracks of the decade. Now standing for ‘progressive but with tougher beats and a sharper edge, remixes for Hooj, Platipus, Nebula & Deviant immediately followed, thus establishing themselves as ‘first call’ remixers.
Subsequently, collaborations with Zzino & Tomaz proved to be prolific, as their techno output on Headroom labels Session and Traction started flowing, finding flavour with Carl Cox, Bailey and the likes. Intec eventually got in touched and asked for ‘latin techno tracks’. ‘Sunshine’ and ‘Latin Loopworks’ ended up being THE Ibiza favourite, and THE massive summer anthem for that year.
Offers to remix big hits like Green Velvet’s ‘LaLa Land’, Bedrock’s ‘Emerald’, Whatever Girl’s ‘Activator’, Eddie Amador’s ‘House Music’, Kira’s ‘I’ll be Your Angel’, just to name a few, further reinforced their fast rising status of highly acclaimed producers. And as if garnering the best ever selling techno record in history wasn’t enough, the brothers decided to go for another challenge. In their debut mix CD Tribalicious, tribal monsters, tech beats, spacious overtones and some downright offbeat stuff were reworked, remixed, rebuilt, and abused (quite ironically) to perfection. And the Filterheadz sound was further armored and recognized.
2004 WMC marked yet another history in the making for the boys, when ‘Yimanya’ created huge waves to become another Ibiza monster tune, so huge that it was made Pete Tong’s essential new tune. So huge that support from house, techno and trance DJs alike were massive. Just about anyone from across the dance floors to the consoles, from Tong to Sander to Jules to Tiesto – were all supporting ‘Yimanya’ in full force. Extensive DJ tours soon followed, but they still found time to remix for Faithless, Dido, Delerium, Tranquility Base as well as the biggest dance tune of 2004: Eric Prydz’s ‘Call on Me’.
2005 witnessed the birth of Love Distortion – a label wholly owned by Filterheadz. It is remarkably a dynamic move, as they continued to shine by releasing a few more big hits ‘Endless Summer’, ‘Cartagena’, ‘Santiago’ – this time under their very own label, receiving all-round support again, nonetheless.
