Cora Novoa unveils a new and very impressive EP, ‘Two Faces’.

Barcelona-based producer, creative director and DJ Cora Novoa is presenting her new and very proper 5-track EP titled ‘Two Faces‘. This brilliant sonorus piece showcases another standout record that confirms her place at techno’s top table. ‘Two Faces‘ due out  November 5, 2021 via Turbo Recordings also comes with a unique Instagram face filter, a limited edition t-shirt and an NFT via Foundation. This brand new record is another representation of Cora Novoa’s pure passion to create music through technology, design, art or fashion. Find everything you want to know below.

Seeking the Velvet label boss Cora Novoa works on the intersection of art and technology. She has a modular live show that has taken her to festivals like Sonar Barcelona, Tate-Modern Museum and Magnetic Fields India, and also works as an Ableton Official Trainer and musical content curator offering masterclasses about the music industry, amongst other subjects. Cora has been a part of the Factory Berlin x Sónar+D’s Artist in Residence program, which supports new lines of inquiry where technology and society intersect and on this new EP “evokes the deep space claustrophobia of consumer-grade interplanetary travel.”

This October, she launches Cora Novoa & The Artifacts, a new band project that has resulted from a Mentorship Program with Sónar Festival x Taller de Music and will debut exclusively at the Sónar Istanbul & Sónar CCCB editions of the festival. Musically, the project draws from electronic and urban styles, from Trap, Afrobeat, Reggaeton, Flamenco or Leftfield. Conceptually it is developed around current concepts such as dystopia, techno-ethics, artificial intelligence, censorship, surveillance capitalism or dehumanisation, and aims to make a social critique of the unknowns and moral dilemmas we face today.

The abrasive, ready-rave textures of lead single ‘Technological Systems’ kick off this EP in arresting fashion. There is darkness in the drums and dystopia in the synths that speak of an uncertain future. The stark techno urgency continues on ‘Cause This Is The End’ with its crunchy digital textures, twisted electronic rhythms and tortured synths. The excellent ‘Del Reves feat. PRETTY PRETTY 2000′ brings edgy synth sounds and more wall-rattling drum work. It’s an explosive track for maximum dance floor destruction.’Come, Come Now’ is a short but sweet interlude with warped vocals and a more spacious groove that allows a moment’s reflection before ‘Mirrors’ goes deep and locks you into an acid-tinged bassline and undulating rhythm that melts the mind.

Two Faces is a high quality, high impact and high concept EP from an artist right at techno’s vanguard. Available on 5th November, it is preceded by the single, ‘Technological Systems’, which drops 13th October.
