The celebration of 30 Years of Orbital came with the announcement of their new retrospective LP titled ‘30 Something’. The new record is being billed as “a musical celebration of the pioneering career of the hugely influential electronic music duo comprised of brothers Paul and Phil Hartnoll”.

The pandemic caused Orbital to miss their actual thirtieth anniversary, but it gave the band pause to think and find a way to celebrate their past that was actually about the future and ‘30 Something’ was born

The double-CD, quadruple-vinyl release includes three new tracks plus fresh remixes and reworks of Orbital classics, such as “Chime,” “Belfast” and “Halcyon & On.” The reworks are by Orbital, with the likes of Shanti Celeste, Jon Hopkins, John Tejada, Dusky and Octave One on remix duty. Orbital Recordings Ltd. will release 30 Something on July 15th, 2022.

‘30 Something’ has been previewed with a new mix of ‘Where Is It Going?’, which features the late Stephen Hawking and was first premiered during the 2012 London Paralympics Opening Ceremony.
