‘Distorted Love‘ is Georgia Lee‘s new acid techno release, and her first-time featuring on Gain Records. The EP released this month also includes reworked versions by Sisko Electrofanatik and Ida Mandato.
Georgia Lee is an Italian artist based in Rome who shows off the harder side of her eclectic style with a hard-hitting track which combines heavyweight percussion and acid synths. This is her first-time featuring on Gain Records, following music on other labels such as Fakktory Records and iM Electronica.
Sisko Electrofanatik is the Gain Records label owner, and for many people, his remix will likely be the standout part of this release. Sisko adds a new bassline and a weightier kick drum that gives his version a heavier sound than the original. He also adds to the euphoric suspense of the original’s breakdown with his own uplifting lead synth.
On a whole, Sisko Electrofanatik’s remix of “Distorted Love” follows a similar structure to the original, which also includes an acid lead synth that takes centre stage after the main breakdown. It’s a very accomplished remix in the style that Sisko Electrofanatik has released via other influential outlets such as We Are The Brave, Codex, Intec and Terminal M.
The original version of “Distorted Love” by Georgia Lee is also an impressive production, but it’s a bit rawer and more understated, making it perfect for people who are not necessarily looking for a big room sound. Although, it’s still a very well-produced track that sounds massive on a club sound system. Georgia Lee is relatively new to releasing music, and this is only her third official release, but she is already an established DJ based in Rome (Italy). Through her productions, you can tell she knows exactly what works on the dance floor, and what makes a track sound huge on a club system.
Ida Mandato is also an established DJ from the underground club scene in Rome, and she has an industrial sound with EBM elements. Her remix is a lot darker than the other versions, and she works in some metallic percussion that sounds like someone hitting sheet metal. Her clanging percussion is accompanied by an additional acid line, which bolsters the original’s acid synth.
