Gain Records welcomes its second release by Georgia Lee who drops a smouldering techno single “Out of the Dark” which has dark atmosphere and peak time energy. There are also remixes by Alex Nocera, Produkkt and D Lewis who alongside Georgia Lee are all artists with Italian roots.
Georgia Lee is a veteran of the Italian club scene where she spent many years being a resident at the Circolo Degli Artisti nightclub in Rome. She was also a regular at Amigdala which is an event that ran at Goa Club, Rialto, Ex Dogana and Animal Social Club. La Roboterie was another event she played regularly, as it toured across different cities in Italy. Over the years she has been lucky enough to showcase her techno style on the same line-up as others ranging from Ellen Allien to Regis.
Talking about the release, Georgia Lee commented: “Out of the Dark” is a track dedicated to all those who are still with us, fighting every day the pain of their human and spiritual losses. It is an introspective work based on the fusion of cosmic and dark techno sounds that slowly evolves until it reaches its inevitable sonic and empathetic resolution. It aims to be a metaphysical bridge to transform suffering into medicine, hope, and energy after the unfillable void of loneliness. The three remixes made by Alex Nocera, Produkkt, and D Lewis, represent a progression to reach the light.”
Alex Nocera provides the first remix in a more up-tempo and harder style than the original track. Not only does he lift the tempo, he also thickens the kick drum, and adds some intense acid stabs.
Produkkt is the first of the remix artists to bring the release towards the light, as he drops the tempo, and works in some deep suspense with the help of a pulsating electro bassline.
D Lewis rounds out the release with a rather spectacular transformation of Out of the Dark, as he drops the tempo by more than 10 BPM, and works in some funk to create an uplifting version with disco influence.
Some of the DJs supporting this release include the likes of Dok & Martin and Cristian Varela.
