MJA the Vision is a record label and events series founded by Clif Jack, and it’s closing out 2024 with an epic 10-track techno compilation.
The release includes music from Luca Morris, Jil Tanner, Bry Ortega, Ilona Maras, Clif Jack, AM.I, Mintech, yofellas, Nico Cabeza, and ax1om. Many of whom are well known to MJA the Vision fans for their previous contributions, but there are also imprint debuts from Jil Tanner, ax1om, Bry Ortega and Mintech.
It’s an accomplished selection of producers ranging from veterans like Luca Morris to ax1om who is a brand-new talent making a first ever release.
Each track on the Hiss of Sound VA1 compilation brings something different to the table, and could easily be a single in its own right. “In the Groove” is the acid techno opener from Luca Morris, then “Bassface” by Jil Tanner builds tension with a hypnotic groove. “The Sign” by Bry Ortega, has suspenseful pads, and “Sweet Surrender” by Ilona Maras, has a monstrous bassline. “Revolution the Evolution” by Clif Jack, marks the half way point with uplifting melodies and a trippy vocal.
“Deep Trust” by AM.I, is a dark and percussive track, “Look to the Future” by Mintech, has explosive textures, then “Weakness” by yofellas, switches between powerful drums and a euphoric breakdown.
“Competition Opposition” is the penultimate track by Nico Cabeza, and it’s got a powerful vocal layered with in-your-face synths. “Thrive” by ax1om, ends the release with an emotive vocal and hammering drums.
This is a great selection of functional, dance floor focused techno, and all of the tracks have their time and place in a DJ set.
