‘Boomerang’ is a fiery new peak time techno release by Ilona Maras who is a Montenegro born artist living in Switzerland. She is a skilled DJ who is resident at Zurich’s Hive Club, and a hotly tipped producer who is fresh from a recent release on Alan Fitzpatrick’s We Are The Brave.

The two tracks on her new release are both expertly produced, and showcase her trademark sound with a fusion of hard-hitting drums and intoxicating melodies. Ilona Maras seems set to make 2025 a year to remember, and this release on MJA The Vision is testament to her ability of making music that stands out on the dance floor.

First, is the in-your-face, “Boomerang,” and it’s a combination of rhythmic melody stabs, throbbing bass, warped lead synth, and pounding drums. The breakdown section has angelic pads building suspense, before the drums hit back in, and the track lifts to the next level.

“2 Left Shoes” takes its title from the diva-ish vocal that marks the breakdown, but the meat of the groove has deep pads and a pulsating bass. It’s a deeper track than the title cut, but it’s still got a peak time energy.
