Pyrame’s new EP ‘The Pace of Everything That Lives’ is an outstanding modern and progressive techno record.

Catch up with the transcendental music of a physicist turned Investment Banker turned Producer, Pyrame’s emergence into the electronic music scene is a story of wanderlust, dream catching and cosmic energy… something that comes across heavily in the work he produces.

After a busy year releasing his debut EP – A Fine Life – Pyrame’s journey into the electro-pop world is only just getting started as he evolves from his down-tempo electronica into a more techno and progressive orientated world with his newest EP titled ‘The Pace of Everything That Lives‘.

This time launching on his very own Thisbe Recordings – the name taking inspiration from the same place as his own; the tragic Greek love story of two lovers – the passion struck Swiss producer channels the 4 main themes that inspire his creations: relationships, freedom, life and love.

An ode to life\’s most tumultuous emotions, Pyrame’s ‘Colours’ illuminates the sometimes rocky but rewarding journey to love. Building tension from the start, the track’s marching drums and varying high hats lead us into a trance, towards distant colours as the stark synth rays beam out from the very core. Simple, yet gritty electro vocals whisper to us as they describe the elements around. As the track climaxes, the components crash together in a mighty drop, like an exploding melting pot of colours, emotions and euphoria. Noticeably more serious than his previous releases, the track bursts out of the speakers and makes an unmistakable statement. Vibrant, but in a dark and twisted kind of way, Colours (a l’infini) is truly like watching the story of a formidable love unfold before your very eyes.
Encapsulating the greek myth of the ill-fated love, the EP progresses onto The Fine Line Between Us – a profound and raw metaphor for any ongoing relationship. The down-tempo techno beat and synths that define The Fine Line Between Us, sets the scene of a tension-filled plot, where two voices explore the balance between their two existences. Layering intricate textures and jitters to build the track, Pyrame manages to replicate a journey of exploration, temptation and experimentation. The track convinces you of its intent to push boundaries through individualism, yet still conveys a sort of camaraderie and unity throughout it all.
With his next track, Pyrame takes us on an enchanting journey of self-discovery. Progressive in nature, The Pace of Everything That Lives is truly like embodying Alice as she falls down the rabbit hole. With an almost lofi/trap-like introduction, Pyrame creates an air of confusion through a mixture of rewinded and warped noises, gradually coming into focus as it reveals its authentic form and angelic vocals. The track is full of wonder and awe, yet if you listen closely, you find it laced with a darker kind of energy. Pyrame’s ability to explore the conversation between varying elements, using the melancholy lyrics, alternating oriental melody and rumbling bass, only adds to its mesmerizing aura.

Finally, ending the EP on a less serious note and showing that as an artist, he is still exploring the allure and power of his creative freedom, Pyrame ventures further into the realm of cosmic-pop with this next tech-house release. Drifting-Off-The-Grid is an infectious dance track at its core, using the recognisable radio-style introduction to get you into that dirty disco mood. With energy from the get-go, the gritty pop-infused beat met with the dark, suggestive vocals, seduces you right into the first drop. The message? Transitioning into a liberated and bold way of life, empowering you with every (2-)step you take.

With this latest EP, Pyrame has managed to impressively capture the intensities of life itself and has programmed them into a complex and slowly unveiling love letter. With oriental melodies, synthy greatness, and progressive beats, this EP is sure to get your emotions running high and nostalgia running deep.
