Lee Ann Roberts announced her new EP ‘Reality Bytes’.

Aiming to recommend top non-traditional elevated standart high-speed techno music, nothing better than Lee Ann Roberts, who continues to prove why she is one of techno’s brightest new stars with a superb new single. Entitled ‘Reality Bytes‘, it comes out in mid august on her own fledgling NowNow Records label with remixes from Félicie and Balrog. Full details below.

Pre order (Digital): Beatport

South African-born, Amsterdam-based Lee Ann Roberts makes off-grid techno inspired by a rich array of cultures and communities. She debuted only last year on Suara and immediately hit the number 2 spot on the Beatport Hard Techno chart, then followed it up with more on Octopus Warehouse Series. Her hard-edged and unrelenting sound also carries over to the decks and has seen her play events in North America, Europe and South Africa.

Lee Ann’s excellent ‘Reality Bytes’ is a dark, paranoid techno banger. The cantering drums kick like a mule while razor-sharp hi-hats cut up the groove. Loopy vocals repeat the title while further freaky FX add to the intensity of this bold and muscular warehouse techno classic.

Part of the Exil Paris collective, remixer Félicie is another of the most promising new artists in techno. Her version is a high-speed panel beater, with distorted and fuzzy bass, square kicks and unrelenting pressure. Last of all is Balrog, a techno producer from the Yorkshire Dales who has released on BLOK, Arcane and Otomo Trax. His take on ‘Reality Bytes’ is another blistering one that is dense with drum power, caustic synth patterns and driving energy that will blow the roof off any club.

‘Reality Bytes’ is the sound of three producers really making their mark on the techno world.
