Special deliver this time. Let\’s talk about Shitkatapult, a very interesting label that was founded in 1997 by guy called Marco Haas, also known as T.Raumschmiere, and some of his friends.
Since its foundation, Shitkatapult has never put aside his initial vision on the music industry. They just do what they like! Whether it’s cutting edge electronica, raw tech-rock, electronic composing, dub dope beats or fragile ambient epics.
The most brilliant thing about this label is the fact that they reach and offer a very special brand of music, and by doing that, they share their vision to the world, seeking truly followers that sticks with the labels guidelines. At the same time, they dont give much importance to commercial standards. They know their releases are good.
After a long silence, and some outstanding previous releases, T.Raumschmiere reloads his mighty Shitkatapult for another strike. He is about to release his new album.
The title of this 6 track album \’Schaukelstuhl\’, immediately conjures images of tranquility, moving back and forward ad infinitum, slowly nodding off to sleep with a book, tea at the ready.
\’Schaukelstuhl\’ translated into english means \’rocking chair\’ or just \’rocker\’, an appropriate double endendre, as buried below the album\’s dreamy haze, the echoes of T.Raumshmiere‘s previous dance floor pyrotechnics still bubble to the surface. This is most clearly evident with album highlights \’Erich\’ and \’Isidora\’. Both are catchy, with an unmistakable underlying TR bounce, certain to move feet, asses and rocking chairs with assured ease.
Though the album was completed in 2019, its release during these strangest of times feels entirely fitting, providing a perfect soundtrack for quiet reflection or isolationists living room dance parties.
Refill the tea, grab another long forgotten favorite novel off the shelf, head out to the porch, and keep on rocking.
