Following this week’s announcement by the Dutch government that events will be prohibited until September 1st, we’re saddened to have to postpone Dekmantel Festival 2020 to August 4 – August 8, 2021. It is a tough moment, but we’re sure we do not need to explain how the pandemic has affected the lives of nearly everyone on the planet this year — we are resigned to fate as well.
While 2021 seems far away, we do have some highly positive news: we’re bringing this year’s Amsterdamse Bos line-up along with us to the next edition. We’re appreciative that all these fantastic artists have worked with us swiftly and agreed to make themselves available to perform for you next year. News on artists scheduled for the Dekmantel Festival aan ‘t IJ programme (which takes place on the Wednesday and Thursday) will follow shortly too. Overall, the wait will be longer, but we promise it will be an unforgettable edition nevertheless.
All purchased tickets will be valid on the new dates. We are aware that you might have a number of questions regarding your purchase, but please hang tight – we will get in touch with all ticket holders via email very soon with full information regarding all options. In the meantime, we would like to ask for your understanding and patience.
By moving to 2021, we all have something to focus on. That said, losing Dekmantel Festival this summer does have a massive impact on our small team, as well as the wider network of people we work with all year round: musicians, artists, producers, partners, and countless freelancers. As such, we would like to take this opportunity to ask that you continue showing empathy for and actively supporting your favourite artists, labels, venues, and all other initiatives in the creative sector wherever you can. We need each other more than ever at a time of unprecedented turbulence.
Stay safe out there, take the guidelines to heart and look out for one another. We look forward to seeing you next summer.
