Up first on the package is ‘Beats Me’, fuelled by gritty dub stabs, dynamic 909 drums, a funk-infused bass lick and sporadic vocal chants before title-cut ‘Innerzone’ leads things down a more 90’s tinged IDM path via offkilter drums, sweeping atmospherics and wandering electronic funk melodies.
Opening the flip side is ‘Outta Here’, which returns to more dubbed out territories, fusing bubbling dub echoes with heavily swung organic drums, bright string lines and rumbling subs. ‘White Crash’ then rounds out the release on a deep house tip, bringing airy pad swells and shimmering piano keys into the limelight alongside resonant synth sequence and bumpy drums.
