London based Cisco Ferreira, best known as The Advent is definitely a very interesting and fundamental character in the underground techno scene. “He can be described in many ways: a musician, a pioneer, a sound designer, a steady force, one persistent m*therf*cker, a rebel, an icon, an outsider, a great live artist…”
He is always on the right path when it comes to create music and concepts. That\’s what got us here, as Cisco Ferreira’s seminal techno act The Advent returns to Ben Klock’s imprint Klockworks in September with three distinctly turbo-charged original cuts, following his release on the label’s 22nd instalment in 2018.
A pioneer of early British techno, this outstanding producer began his career in the halls of the legendary Jack Trax label as a sound engineer, going on to produce cutting edge releases on imprints R&S, Tresor and Transmat.
This latest Klockworks release relinquishes the sparse energy of The Advent’s live sets from the 90’s with these previously unreleased timeless live recordings. Favouring off-kilter percussion and warbled bass, all three strike hard with a distorted and visceral energy.
The sound of The Advent is peculiar, doesn\’t matter the speed. After listening to this new three cuts, we can tell you this is a record that goes over 140 bpm, and have some quite nice rawish melodies, hard and fast beast, dark atmospheres very proper from The Advent, and of course, the peculiar Klockworks style of industrial techno.
