Followed along time ago by this blog, i can say and stand for it that Art Department is one of the most recognisable names in the underground house music scene, surfing lately between Tech house and Techno, global house icon Jonny White aka Art Department has turned out some of house and techno’s most essential cuts in the last few years. Now on, his latest release is \”Shame EP\”, already released in Cuttin Headz label, this ep is a bomb, below is my review.
REVIEW: 9/10. First track of the EP is Shame, Entitled as the EP, this track is a pure tech bomb, delivered in a great path of energetic hi hats, banging drums, punching bass, all well synchronized to perfectly get delighted with some hot high vocals to give some spicy groove to the track.
Second track is Fixation, with confortable loops, full tech house grooving, twitchy synths, background trippy sounds, and perfect timing repetitive vocals, this tracks is made to enjoy all that with a good bass, for sure a good groove made for warm dancefloors. Living Techno give the release a 9, based on tracks style, structure, and how clean the sounds are.

Overview. The definitive Cuttin Headz label welcomes global house icon Jonny White aka Art Department for a new EP that boasts two vital house cuts.
Art Department is one of the most recognisable names in the underground scene. The solo project of No.19 Music label boss and Canadian Jonny White has graced high profile magazine front covers, headlined all the key festivals and events, and turned out some of house and techno’s most essential cuts in the last few years. These two new missiles show yet another sound and style to White’s arsenal, and are destined to make a huge impact in the club.
First out of the blocks is the rock solid ‘Shame’ with razor sharp hi hats and tough, punchy drums. The excellent physicality of the groove is off set by a super soulful vocal sample up top, and as the track barrels along smart filters and a hypnotic lead are sure to get the whole club under a spell. Then comes the superb ‘Fixation’, a totally different but equally original proposition that is built on restless drum programming and twitchy synths. It’s a freaky late night cut that brings muscular grooves and absorbing bass to the floor for maximum destruction.
This is a powerful new EP from Cuttin’ Headz and Art Department, two giants in the scene.
