I just heard of it, in RA, and immediately go corroborate the facts. Discogs has launched a exclusives website for true rare releases collectors. Now the website is live in beta mode, but it promise a lot, trust me. The platform is aimed at \”true collectors\” looking for hard-to-find stock.
Also the sub-site will sell rare and hard-to-find records and tapes, including test pressings and special editions that interest collectors. The beta page currently has four products listed, and only one in stock, which is a cassette box set of all of John Carpenter\’s albums (including his soundtrack to Halloween), out via Sacred Bones. They also say more exclusive pre orders are coming soon, so if youre interested in this, you better stay tuned.
\”Discogs Exclusives is a unique opportunity for us to help surface items that aren\’t available, or readily available, to collectors through the Marketplace,\” Discogs\’ director of PR, Jeffrey Smith, tells Resident Advisor.
The only question I have is about how the parameters will be determined to choose the \”rare releases\”? Go check out the exclusive Discogs site, and see what im talking about: Discogs Exclusive.
INCREDIBLE, ONE-TIME ONLY ITEMS FOR THE TRUE COLLECTOR.
